Munich's two agreements, which were signed between Kosovo and Serbia for the opening of railway and highway, have not yet been made public by the Government of Kosovo, nor by the officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure, who signed these documents, writes Zeri.
Awareers of political circumstances stress that the government should examine their content and establish Kosovo's decision as a filter, which would ensure transparency and accountability.
Former Minister of the Ministry of Infrastructure Pal Lekaj, under whose authorisation are both signed Kosovo agreements Serbia, has told “Zerin” that there has been continued co-ordination with two MI officials who have signed the agreements, but also with former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and with President Hashim Thaci.
Both deals -- the one for Railways and the one for Highways -- Lekaj says that prior to the signing, the current Infrastructure Minister Lumir Abdixhik has also been proposed.
“The two MI officials, former Prime Minister Haradinaj, Kosovo president and I as minister have been co-ordinated every time and every draft proposed for these letters has been on our table. But as much as I have information as Minister Abdixhik has been introduced to these two agreements”, Lekaj said.
Since the content of the agreements has not yet been made public, Lekaj stresses that this process should go transparently, meanwhile, the signing of these letters calls it historic towards recognising Kosovo as a state on the part of Serbia.
It depends on how the parties agree, but I think the process should be transparent. The two letters of interest between Kosovo and Serbia, signed in Munich, are a first step of goodwill and is the first step for Serbia to begin to recognise the reality created in Kosovo. We have made these agreements on the basis of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, and for the first time Serbia recognises the Kosovo Civil Aviation Authority and the international airport BARAdem Jashari”, he has declared.
Lekaj says the government can be considered insane if it disputes these two agreements, in which the US has brokered.
