Opposition says it will be powerful in report with government

The opposition in the Kosovo Assembly says there are very few points in common with Kosovo's newly-elected Government, led by Albin Kurti. At the February 3rd session, when the assembly saw the votes of three opposition parties -- the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Social Democrat Initiative -- elected the new government, opposition MPs were vocal against forming this government.
On this line, Kurti's current government warn that it will have opposition support only on issues involving state interests.
While the differences, it is said to be much greater for policies Kurt has warned them during the chairmanship of the government programme.
Kosovo Assembly MP from the ranks of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Time Kadrijaj, says the government will face a powerful opposition.
The “Themes that are not in the interest of Kosovo, we will stand up to them, make them a strong opposition. The only points he can offer us are the good things the government can do for the good of the country. On the other hand, we're going to get ahead of” for the bad things, Kadrijay said.
Albullena Balaj-Halimaj is an opposition MP from the Social Democrat Initiative. She tells Radio Free Europe, that Kosovo Assembly deputies have not yet seen Kurti Government programme, but from what was heard at the February 3rd session, when Kurti was elected prime minister, Balaj-Halimaj especially singles Kurti's pledge to replace the 100 per cent tax for imports from Serbia with the extent of reciprocity, as an issue which the opposition would reject.
“The initiative's support does not get it if it removes the fee 100 percent. Of course we've said they have to relax the reasons why the tax is set and then leave. There are other topics we have repeatedly mentioned to”, Balaj-Halimaj said.
The MP from the Social Democrat Initiative considers that on important issues such as dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, there should be a unity.
“On major topics, they should all be together, there is no opposition position”, she says.
But at the same time, it recalls that in the past government led by former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo have declined to take responsibility in the dialogue.
And now I don't know how many opposition parties are willing to support Albin Kurtin or LDK”, says Balaj- Halimaj.
The chief of the Democratic Party of Kosovo Parliamentary Group, Bedri Hamza, as well as opposition parties, says the PDKtasme has started boycotting the Assembly's Parliamentary Assembly Speaker's meetings because the assembly's speaker, Vjosa Osmani, has left, as he says, illegal, the photograph of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci.
He has declared that in the situation we are in, Kosovo must have internal cohesion.
This is not our will, it is not our wish, because I believe we can contribute more by attending meetings with advice, criticism and recommendations than by being out of institutions”, Hamza said.
The Kosovo Assembly voted for the new government at the 3 February session. The new government is the result of the coalition between the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo.
Opposition political parties have repeatedly reminded Prime Minister Albin Kurti of the problems and challenges his government will face, warning him of powerful opposition.
