He said at the beginning of the government cabinet hearing that his most recent visit to Washington was historic and presented an American plan that would recognise Israel's sovereignty over Jordan Valley, the Dead North Sea and all Jewish settlements in the West Coast, without exception.
“The United States and we have agreed that when the whole process is over, we send it to the government for approval. Americans have made it clear: We want to recognize you and give it to you, when the whole process is over”, the Israeli leader explained, assessing recognition is the main thing and Israel does not want to risk.
Netanyahu also referred to deputies of Jewish settlers in the occupied West Coast, his allies calling for Israel to annex areas immediately, saying he hoped maps would soon be completed, Israeli media reports.
US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman earlier today warned Israel against unilateral annexing parts of the West Coast, but Jewish residents' leader David Elhajani urged the Israeli government to respect the prime minister's earlier promise to do so immediately before Israel's March 2nd parliamentary elections.
Israel conquered the West Coast with East Jerusalem and the Gaza Belt in the 1967 war. Palestinians want to establish their own independent state in these territories. There are more than 700,000 Jews living in the West Coast and East Jerusalem today.
