According to scientists, a new mysterious virus, with genes never seen before and in any form of life, has been discovered in Brazil.
Yavarirus, who has been named after Yara ʹ a Brazilian mythologyn water goddess, was found at Lake Pampulha, an artificial lagoon in the town of Belo Horizonte, reportedly in a new research paper in BioRxiv, writes “nypost. com”.
Scientists from France's University, Aix Marseille, and the Federal of Brazil, Minas Gerais, found that over 90 percent of the Yaravirus genes have never been identified in other viruses, transmits Koha.net.
Scientists also said that the new <x0virus carries an important number of genes previously described”.
They also said it is unclear when and where this virus began and developed.
“would need to isolate new viruses similar to Yaravirus to improve our analysis and try to define their origin”, says “Live Science” Jonas Abrahao, associate professor at Brazil Federal University.
The new virus, which is only 80 nanometers in diameter or about 0.1 percent of the thickness of human hair, has the ability to infect other amoebats. But there is no indication that the new virus is a danger to humans, scientists added.
“If we consider all known viruses so far, we can say that most of them do not pose any risks to our health”, Abrahao said, adding that they are still extremely important “in the environment”.
News of the discovery of the new virus follows the choreography, known as COVID-19, which has recently been discovered in central China leading to a public health emergency while spreading to thousands within two months.
