Majlinda Kelmendi: statue should be placed in Pristina

The best athlete in Kosovo, elected by the Olympic Committee for 2019, said she is very honored that the Judo World Federation has chosen her to build statues, as it says there are many good jungles in the world.

I'm very happy, I'm very proud, I don't know how many living people made you statues so I'm very happy that I'm one of them. I'm so glad that I've been chosen by the World Federation for knowing in the world how many good jungles there are, so by choosing me, it's a very serious honour”, Kelmendi originally said.

As far as this statue is concerned, Kelmendi said it's no problem for him. According to her, it would have been better for this statue to be placed in Kosovo's capital, Pristina, but also in Pec, its supporters if they wanted to go and see her.

I'm not wanting to be selfish, so I'm thinking it would have been better in Pristina, but I still know that people in Kosovo love me very much, very much support me, and if they want to see me, they'll come to Pec with pa”, Kelmendi said.

The September inauguration will make the president of the International Federation of Judo, Marius Vizer, who has also attended the 2019 Laureates ceremony, organised by the Kosovo Olympic Committee last night, where Majlinda Kelmendi was elected for the third time as Kosovo's top athlete.
