A letter between Hashim Thaci at the time he was prime minister in 2013 with former NATO Secretary Anders Fogh Ramussen has sparked debate in Kosovo. Prime Minister Albin Kurti has presented it as a secret agreement.

Kurt also called an extraordinary conference where he didn't say anything special, except he made this deal public because Thaci isn't waiting for him at the meeting. The polymetics began because in the letter Kurt had initiated to the chief officer Osman, he also explained the article about the President's dismissal.

Meanwhile, Periscope has contacted KFOR spokesman Daniele Riggio, whose response is like the following:

KFOR's “Mission has made a major contribution to stability in Western Balkan countries in the past 20 years. Last year, we marked KFOR's 20th anniversary. Our mission remains unchanged, based on Security Council Resolution 1244. We are here for a safe environment for people in Kosovo, and that's what we do. At the same time, we are following decisions on the transition of the Kosovo Security Force, and we do so in co-operation with NATO. This discussion is still ongoing. Any movement by the Kosovo Security Force in the northern part of Kosovo must take place with a preliminary announcement with the KFOR Commander.

For 20 years, Kosovo's peace and stability have been a priority for NATO. Our mandate has not changed and we will continue to have peacekeeping mission. NATO also supports the resumption of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, mediated by the European Union as a long-term political solution for the region”.

Regarding the publication of the letter on the part of Prime Minister Kurti, politicians and analysts have reacted.

Opposition Leader Kadri Veselini has said it is disturbing that for the first time a Kosovo prime minister goes against NATO.

The fact that for the first time a Kosovo prime minister names agreements with NATO in opposition to Kosovo's interests is disturbing. During our liberation war, I myself witnessed the actions of this Alliance, led by the United States of America, along with us, in the interest of Kosovo, the liberation of our country and the return of hundreds of thousands of Kosovo citizens to their homes. Our goal is NATO membership and not their departure from around Kosovo. Today, Kosovo's sovereignty is not jeopardised by NATO and agreements with NATO, but by Serbia's aggression and threats. NATO is the guarantee of Kosovo's sovereignty and integrity”, Veselin has written.

Even the former prime minister Ramush Haradinaj, through a Facebook text, has clarified this situation, calling it a populist Kurt.

“Relation to NATO for Kosovo is existential, and should be preserved and cultivated wisely and wisely, always respecting the past and the mandate in power.

With our strategic relationship it doesn't make for some populist titles.

Read the laws we have voted on, and you have all the answers.

Prime Minister Kurti has these corruptions at full disposal in the prime minister, has also voted the laws where the KSF is mandated without territorial restrictions in defence of Kosovo's sovereignty, and should already be aware of how historic the internal closure of Kosovo's sovereignty was, preparation, sending, and unanimous voting of KSF Laws in December 2018x0>, Haradinaj wrote in addition.

Analyst Ramush Tahiri, in response to Periscope, has said Thaci's agreement with NATO is not a violation of the constitution.

I see the criticism they're making to Thaci and may find that it's not a violation of the Constitution because it's right to make deals and it's done in the interest of the country. But we had the NATO mission earlier, it's not like it's brought here, and on this base it doesn't have to be found to be in the Assembly”, he said. /Periscope.
