Serbian media are reporting for the arrest of Zarko Zaric from Istog for war crimes.
The news about the clansova.tv has confirmed the Kosovo Police, but has not provided more details.
Kosovo's “Police at the request of the Special Prosecutor has accompanied a person of Serbian nationality” to the police station, spokesman Daut Hoxha has said.
According to the Serbian-language medium Kosovo Online had returned to Kosovo three years ago, until before he returned he had passed all judicial and security verifications. Before the war in Kosovo and bombings in Serbia and the RF of Yugoslavia by NATO, Zaric had worked as a policeman.
The director of the so-called Office for Kosovo in the Serbian government, Marko Djuric, has responded to this news, saying the case is “a brutal example of instrumentising the judiciary in Kosovo in a campaign of systematic intimidation of the Serbian people in the province”.
He requested the immediate release of Zarko Zaric or the assurance of credible evidence that he was reasonably suspected of a serious crime, though, as he points out, three years ago, Tanjug writes.
