He also said some passengers have been injured.
According to television Turkey's NTV, the flight of Pegasus Airlines, which transported 177 passengers, had just arrived from the city of Izmir.
Pegasus Airlines confirmed an accident, but he didn't give any more details.
The airport is closed, flights have been diverted to the next airport in town.
