South Korea says that the number of new cases of coronary in the country has doubled in just one day.
Officials said Saturday that 229 new cases had been confirmed since Friday, increasing the total to 433.
In a televised address, Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun described the situation as a grave “”.
Many of the new cases were linked to a hospital and a religious group near the city, Daeg, authorities have said.
Two affected in South Korea have died so far and fears the number will rise. Daegu and Cheongdo nearby where the hospital is located have been declared <x0 special care areas” and Daeg streets are said to have been abandoned.
South Korea has now reported the largest number of infected people confirmed after China.
