CNN writes that the next Tuesday marks the official end of the Monday New Year period, a happy date on the Chinese calendar, unveiled this year by a virus that has claimed more than 1,110 lives in China.
The great mobilization of people comes despite earlier warnings to citizens to avoid large crowds.
At a press conference, Chinese officials said measures will be taken to reduce the risk of broadcasting.
These measures include limiting the number of travelers to trains and buses, improving public transport sterilisation and conducting passenger temperature controls.
The 1,638 confirmed cases of the virus, dubbed Covid-19, occurred yesterday in the focus of the Hubei epidemic in central China. This is less than a day ago, indicating that the spread of the virus may have stabilised in the central province.
