The Justice Department described the agreement as the largest global resolution of foreign bribes so far”.
“Airbus engaged in a multi-year and massive scheme to corrupt its business interests by paying bribes in China and other countries and hiding those bribes,” Assistant Attorney General Brian A said. Benczkoski of the Department of Justice Criminal Division.
As part of the deal, Airbus will pay an estimated $600m to US authorities, $2.29 billion to authorities in France and more than $1 billion to Britain's Bureau of Counterfeit.
