Borrell continues efforts to appoint Lajcak as special representative for dialogue

Just on the day that the opinion of two analysts was published in EUobserver by a Germany institute opposing the appointment of Slovakia's Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak for special representatives for Kosovo-Serbia and the Western Balkans, EU High Representative Josep Borrell, has spoken to Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, [...]
In announcing from the EU Foreign Action Service that Borrell has confirmed that Borrell, his co-talkers have also been told of the decision for the special representative for, reportedly “dialog and the Western Balkans”, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
The high representative underlined the importance reflecting on the EU and the individual to appoint an official in this position and to influence the stability and progress of this region towards the EU path. Josep Borrell has reconfirmed that he is personally strongly committed to supporting the European perspective of the Western Balkans and to play his role as facilitator of the Belgrade dialogue”, the Borrell Office announced.
Although some diplomats have expressed disappointment at the way Borrell has secured this post for Slovakia's Foreign Minister, they have told Koha Ditore that “this is now a work done”. The same sources have said that the truth is that Lajcak is set to be and then follow procedures, though the opposite should be.
