Agim Veliu today is expected to resign as mayor

Since Monday, the chairman of the Podujevo municipality, Agim Veliu, has also taken over the position of Interior Minister in Government led by Albin Kurti.

But Veliu today is expected to resign from the mayor's position. Already, the competencies in the municipality have been taken by his deputy head, Nedmi Rudari.

“There is no need to authorize me because I am vice president and automatically assume this position and responsibilities of the mayor until the announcement of extraordinary elections is made and the election process is completed”, he has said.
