Lajcak, who has received the mandate of the EU mediator, will lead talks between the parties by April 2021 with the possibility of extending the mandate.
Dialogue between the two states has resumed in July this year after 20 months of interruption.
The latest meeting was December 10th at the expert level, where they discussed joint financial properties and claims.
The EU envoy has warned the new round of talks in 2021 without specifying the exact month.
