Dr. Shqim relates a painful case: The 83-year-old father survived, his 42-year-old son died of Coronavirus

On the right side of this corridor, there are rooms with three beds, some of which are located by patients. The doors of these rooms were open so that the rays of the sun could penetrate the left side of this clinic.

For Dr Thaci, this period of pandemic has been very difficult, as he says they have never stopped so that citizens can get the right treatment.

Thaci has said in an interview for Telegraph that patients at the Pulmology Clinic have come to different health conditions.

We find ourselves in Pulmology Clinic, D, where for six months we have patients who have been positive and negative in other separate departments. It is noteworthy that during this time, we have had an enormous influx of patients, especially from June 22nd onward, where we have had a large number of patients with serious condition. Health personnel have done an extraordinary job in order to help citizens”, he said.

The number of ambulance visits during this period of time has been over 113 visits to the Pulmology Clinic, while the total capacity has been 101 patients lying in the clinic, where almost all capacity has been busy.

The “Patients have come with various situations, in easy condition, while in July and August they have been in serious health condition, where management and inspection of them are supposed to be done at least 24 hours, so that the flow of their disease is correct. There have been various emotional occasions. Despite taking all measures by personnel, their situation has been very serious and has ended in death”, he said.

Doctor Thaci mentioned one of the most special cases there has been during this time.

The one of the cases was when the parent and his son were lying in Pulmology D, the boy was 42 years old and in a serious state of health, and so was the parent. The boy dies after a complications, while the parent survives at 83 years of age and is released home after 1 week”, he said.

We haven't told him his son's life has changed because he's been in severe emotional and spiritual condition. In such a situation, we have not told him anything, but after being released home, family members have told him about the death of his son”, he claimed.

Doctor Thaci says that his job has made it harder for him to see his wife as a doctor.

This period has been very serious for me because our whole family is a medical person, and my wife is a doctor. And we haven't had a medical vacation and we've been forced to go to work and come to the aid of citizens at this time of pandemic. So we've made a schedule adjustment. We've been together respecting the distance, and wearing masks at the flat after we have two little children, ”, he claimed.

Thaci indicated that for the time being at the Pulmology Clinic there are 50 patients, while they have no patients with COVID-19.

The doctor says that after treatment, patients can have minor consequences.

He has also talked about the winter season, and the likelihood of increasing the number of people infected with COVID-19.

By entering the winter season, the probability of having an increase is huge because of the cold. What's important is that protection remains the same. If the population will respect the doctors' recommendations, which have to do with wearing masks and keeping distance, I hope we don't have an increase in the number”, he said.

Finally, the doctor said that keeping distance, hygiene, and wearing a mask are the principal rules to reduce the number of infected people and that this will save the health system from collapse.
