At the birthday party held today, staff at home and friends were ready, reports T VQ Kyushu Broadcasting Co.
Tanaka, whose birthday was on January 2nd, took part of the birthday's delicious cake and commented with a smile: “It's delicious, I want more”.
Tanaka was named the oldest living person last year, according to the Guinness Book of Records.
Its record age symbolizes the long-lived population, which along with its low birth rate, raises concerns about labour shortages and opportunities for future economic growth.
Japan's number of babies has dropped by about 5.9 percent to less or 900,000, for the first time since the government began collecting data in 1899, according to the Japanese Ministry of Social Management.
Tanaka was born in 1903, married in 1922 to Hide Tanaka. The couple has four children and adopted one more child, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
