The country's president, Hashim Thaci, has today sent a letter to Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti, where he has stressed that he is awaiting his response, as he had promised at their consultative meeting, but that he has not yet accepted his proposal.
After the functioning of the Republic of Kosovo Assembly, Thaci has told the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo that they rightly expect the functioning of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and expect it as the president to decree the proposed candidate for prime minister.
“As the president of the Republic of Kosovo I am obliged to take action without delay to further, following all constitutional steps so that citizens of the Republic of Kosovo can have their government as soon as possible. Taking into account democratic principles, transparency and political correctness, I have given them the opportunity and repeatedly asked that you propose the candidate for Prime Minister”, he wrote to Thaci-Kurt, stressing that he also considers the 87th Constitutional Court Act in case no. K01/03/14, which notes “is not ruled out that the party or the coalition in question will refuse to receive the” mandate.
In any case, of accepting or refusing the mandate, Thaci has called on Kurti to announce this in order to take all steps specified in the Constitutions and decree the candidate/en for prime minister to form the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. /Periscopi/
