The country's president, Hashim Thaci, has also written on his Twitter account for today's meeting with Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti.
Thaci said that Mr. Kurt finally went to his office to make the constitutional step of seeking the mandate for prime minister, but unfortunately he did not.
He said he hoped within 48 hours Mr. Kurti can nominated a candidate for prime minister, as our people, parliament and allies expect this step from him.
“It may try to create delays, but this will be great disappointment for the people of Kosovo and unnecessary risk for constitutional crisis”, Thaci has written among other things.
This is Thaci's full tweet post.
Today, the chairman of the first party to emerge from the October parliamentary elections, Mr. Kurti, finally came to my office to make the constitutional step of seeking the mandate for prime minister. Unfortunately, he didn't do that. Now we're too late for government formation. I hope within 48 hours Mr. Kurti can nominated a candidate for prime minister, as our people, parliament and allies expect this step from him. He may try to create delays, but this will be great disappointment for the people of Kosovo and unnecessary risk for constitutional crisis
