Albanian writer Ismail Kadare has been praised by France's president, Emmanuel Macron with the highest state title, “The Grand Agent of the Honorary Legion”.
Civil promotion of the Order Legion on January 1st gathers 487 people divided among 395 horsemen, 73 officers, 13 commanders, four great officers and two major crosses.
The Legion of Honor is the highest of French national differences. It was founded by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802. Today, the Legion has 92,000 members, rewarded for their outstanding merits in the service of the nation.
