On January 13th, Monday, the second half anniversary begins in the pre-university education system for the 2019/2020 school year.
Pre-university Education Department Director Alush Istog told Radio Kosovo that the ministry in co-operation with all municipal education directorates has made all preparations to begin this half-year, as is envisioned with administrative instruction and school year calendar.
“According to the information we have, all the municipal education directors in co-operation with schools and the Council of Educators have made all preparations for the beginning of the second half anniversary. We as minister carried out all our institutional obligations, thinking that for teachers there was no breaks, but only for students, and I believe that all schools are prepared with their plans, based on the Chox1> school year calendar, Alushi said.
Meanwhile, the United Education Union, with the beginning of the second half anniversary, expects the event to be completed from membership in the collection of signatures and the sending of them to the Government of Kosovo and the Ombuds' Institute, with the request to address the Constitutional Court for revocation of the provisional decision to suspend the Law of the Gentiles. The chairman of the Union, Nundman Jasharaj, said they are waiting for new government institutions to be formed, where he said new challenges will arise.
We are using the same democratic path, expressing the request of thousands of teachers to the lawyer, as he did by respecting the demands of others and addressing the Constitution once again, not to influence to bring about any decision regarding the Law, but to lift the extent of the suspension of the Law of the Gentiles. We're not putting pressure on it, but we're making a legitimate request”, said Candorman.
Jasharaj, stressed that the Steering Council, the mayors of municipal union and university rankings, along with the leadership of the SBASK, wish as soon as possible to resume dialogue on many issues in education, and if membership estimates that dialogue is not producing proper results, then it starts with union actions.
