Pristina citizen named Tito to the dog

The former Yugoslav dictator's name bears a dog in Pristina. The nickname is not Tito, it's Pipo. The owner of the dog, named Josip Broz Pipo, Mentor Mahmut, says he baptized the pet by the name of the former Yugoslav leader, not for ideological purposes, but for jest. He says he has no clear opinion [...]

It says: The Osmanaj Rinesa

Mentor Mahmut has baptized his dog by the name of former Yugoslav leader Josip Broz. But Tito's nickname changed it to “Pipo”.

The dog owner says he named Tito's pet more to joke, not for other purposes.

There are no ideological overtones after this appointment. But it's just a joke among friends”, explains 25-year-old Pristina.

Josip Broz Tito was the leader of Yugoslavia from the end of World War II until May 1980, when he died. Tito is considered one of the biggest dictators in the Balkans and the man who has killed and liquidated more than a million people.

Professor of UP, Milazim Krasniqi, citing archives of Serbian documents, explains that in Tito's former Yugoslavia, they have either been killed or died from exposure to inhumane conditions of 1 million and 170 thousand people. Over 50,000 Albanians are killed and massacred in this number.

During Tito's power time, three times the state of emergency had been declared in Kosovo.

Nevertheless, Mentor Mahmut says there is no similar sympathy for the dog and former Yugoslav chief of the former Yugoslavia.

The boy from Pristina has been a dog of the type “Dogo Argentino”, which is now an integral part of his family and all his friends.

But, regarding his personal opinion of Tito, he calls it an interesting leader compared to the nature of other leaders of so-called socialist or communist states. He claimed his knowledge of him is vague.

Some of the Albanians consider Tito to be one of the good leaders of time. They even mention the opening of the university and the opening of many factories in Kosovo as his due.

The owner of the dog named “Josip Broz-Pipo” doesn't mind if someone misunderstands why he baptized the soft animal with an opposing leader.

He even says that stories of older people are that Tito was some interesting leader of the time.

Yeah, definitely. As soon as I heard from the older generations, Tito was regarded as the balance of Yugoslavia”, he said.

Pipo is not the only one in Pristina that his name starts with Josip Broz because there is a suite in the Grand Hotel that bears the full name of former Yugoslav President, where he had stayed on his last visit to Kosovo in 1979, shortly before his death on May 4, 1980.
