Pope Francisescu has condemned on Monday “the barbarian undiventionary” of anti-Semitism worldwide, linking it to increasing population.
The 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz camp next week should serve as a reminder not to remain indifferent, Francis said before the human rights research group Simon Wiessenthal Center.
“is disturbing how selfishness and the lack of concern for others” in many parts of the world have developed, Francis said.
He did not specifically mention any country or population movement.
Last month in eastern France, several Jewish graves were damaged, hours before lawmakers adopted a resolution to consider the same anti-Semitism and anti-Semitism.
France has the largest Jewish community in Europe, about 550,000, and therefore anti-Semitic attacks in this state are frequent, since 500 have occurred only in 2018.
Nazis and their associates have killed some 6 million Jews in their efforts to wipe out Jews in Europe.
Millions more have been killed by Nazi forces, including homosexuals, members of the Roma community, and political opponents.
Pope Francis has visited the Auschwitz Camp in 2016 and has said that commemorating the Holocaust is of vital importance to ensure that similar atrocities do not occur again. /rel
