Democratic League of Kosovo MP Fatmir Rexhepi has suggested that to reach agreement on co-government between the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo must make compromises.
In an interview for the newspaper “The new age”, he has invited LV leader Albin Kurti and LDK leader Isa Mustafa to return the negotiating table to close the agreement within this week.
Rexhepi has said the biggest responsibility for compromise belongs to the LV, which has emerged victorious in the 6 October elections.
I think it's important to read the election result directly. The hand in the heart, in this case, the LV has to assume the greatest responsibility, but even the LDK needs to know it needs a final compromise. The latest proposals of the two political subjects did not count as final proposals, because I think they should sit at the negotiating table and reach the final agreement. The government's molding should be seen, adding the number of ministries as well as thinking on the president's case, which has been demanded by LDK”.
There is only one party, so whatever that party is. As you know, I've already given my personal opinion to separate the positions of the Speaker of the Parliament and the government, while the president remains for later on to be discussed. This did not happen because now the chief speaker has been elected legally and legitimately, while now it is the question of Vetevendosje's will, how she values this new situation. Thus, both sides must compromise. I don't want to propose anything concrete in this direction, because I did this at party forums. I hope this issue is over and within this week we say yes to this” coalition, Rexhepi has said.
According to him, sending the country into new elections would be a major mistake of both political subjects.
