Kosovo has been led by a Government in resignation for more than six months.
The Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) estimates the constructive approach of political subjects to the constitution without delay of the Parliament, on December 26th of the year we left, however, the institutional framework on the basis of the results of the 6 October 2019 elections remains uncompleted. Given that the country is being led by a Government in resignation for more than six months, we appreciate that the creation of the new government is urgent.
“Since 100 days have passed since holding elections, this process developed in line with democratic standards and with accepted and legitimate results, KDI seeks from the Vetevendosje Movement, as the winning political subject of the elections, to find a solution as quickly as possible to the formation of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in assuming constitutional and legal responsibilities”, it is said at KDI's statement.
Each delay in materialising the political will and trust of citizens will negatively affect addressing issues requiring immediate treatment, such as budget approval, rule of law and economic development.
