Registering a party called the Right Judgment (Mispat Cedek), she called for her husband's retrial and, as expressed, “for all innocent people by being unjustly arrested”.
The killer's mother, Geula Amir, is the sixth of eight candidates on that new party's list.
Amir, 49, is serving a life sentence for Rabbi's murder, broadcasts Kosovas Press.
His case is clear, since he was filmed raising a weapon in the direction of Rabbi after the peace rally at Tel Aviv.
Amir, a religious nationalist who opposed Rabbi's policy of peace with Palestinians, confessed and rebuilt crime and never withdrew his testimony.
However, there were many conspiracy theories that said Amir was not the killer.
They were based on claims that witnesses did not see blood at the scene of the murder and that taking Rabbi to a nearby hospital lasted long.
Previous attempts to free Amir based on such theories have failed.
The two courts that convicted him and the commission established to investigate the series of events that led to the murder rejected the conspiracy theories and concluded that Amir was guilty of murder.
“Only we can do this, not politicians, they don't care”, said Amir's wife, Alyssa Tmbler-Amir, who has been campaigning long for his release.
