The request was accepted by internal security forces in Lebanon on Thursday and is not expected to refer to the judiciary, Reuters news agency reports.
The private plane, which Ghosn flew, reportedly landed in Istanbul before flying to Lebanon.
Turkey has launched an investigation into how Ghosn travelled through Istanbul, with the goal of escaping trial in Japan, of which local media have reported seven arrests.

Details of his escape remain unclear, though reports say he may have had a French reserve passport, in addition to the three he had handed over.
France says it will not extradite him if he travels there.
The businessman holds French, Lebanese and Brazilian citizenship. He is currently believed to be in Lebanon, which has no extradition treaty with Japan.
He had paid a fine of $8.9m to be released on parole in Japan last April, ahead of his trial of financial misuse.
But he appeared in Lebanon on New Year's Eve, saying “I have escaped injustice and political persecution”.
