Today, the International Holocaust Memorial Day is marked, commemorating millions of victims of the genocide of Nazi Germany during World War II.
About six million Jews were killed in the Nazi systematic attempt to exterminate them.
The UN General Assembly set 27 January as the International Holocaust Memorial Day, the date which corresponds to the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camps in 1945.
An important role in saving Jews has been played by Albanians, who in their families have sheltered many Jews who had fled other countries or lived in Kosovo and Albania.
To honour this day, leaders of state institutions will participate in Pristina and Prizren today.
