Presented in mid-January, after months of negotiations under increased pressure from climate defenders, this 202-page coal disposal bill provides, in particular, dates and compensation for gradual closure of coal thermal power plants.
Germany aims to eliminate coal no later than until 2038, even cutting it by three years until 2035, depending on progress reports that will take place in 2026 and 2029.
