Dead from seasonal flu at the Infectious Clinic

An elderly person has died after being affected by a type A seasonal flu, while 6 people with this type of flu have been hospitized from December to today in the Infective Clinic.

Currently, at this clinic, there is only one patient receiving treatment, which is affected by the seasonal flu of type A.

The F.B., which is in her third month of pregnancy, says that from Tuesday last week because of her condition, she stayed at the University of Gynecology Clinic, and on Friday she moved to that infectious one.

Until she has shown the symptoms, she says she is feeling better because she is being treated with therapy.

Infectious Clinic Infectologist Valbon Krasniqi for Kosovo Press has indicated that 7 cases with type A flu have been confirmed by December.

Krasniqi said there is no epidemiological situation, at least until now.

It adds to the flu, an elderly person has passed away, adding that the patient has been affected by other diseases.

Infectologist also relates some of the symptoms of the seasonal flu, which he says the sufferer may notice after two or three days if he had contact with a person who had been affected earlier with this type of flu.

While the report has not yet been released with the number of seasonal flu affects, data from the National Institute of Public Health from October 1st 2019 to December 4, 2019 show that a total of 9545 suspected cases of flu, 1504 acute respiratory infections and 9 cases with severe acute respiratory infections at <x0).

According to the IKSHPK, these cases were reported by all municipalities in Kosovo except those with Serb populations, and the largest number of reported cases were from the municipality of Pristina, Prizren and Podujevo, but that does not exceed the epidemic threshold.

Between October 1st 2019 and December 4th, 2019, at the National Public Health Institute, 25 suspicious samples on the flu have been tested.

While IKSHPK's spokeswoman, Era Piraeus has told Kosovas Kosovas that they are currently preparing the data for affecting seasonal flu from December 4th until now. /
