The death toll from Friday's powerful earthquake in eastern Turkey has risen to 29.
So far, 1234 people have been reported injured, while rescue workers continue to search for people under the rubble, according to the Disaster Management and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), Kosovo reports.
A total of 43 people have been rescued, including a woman who was taken out 17 hours after her house collapsed on her.
A team of researchers is assessing the damage caused by the quake, with initial reports saying 72 buildings were completely damaged.
After the powerful earthquake in this region felt even at least 462 shocks, most of which were over 4.0 in size.
The 6.8-sized quake rocked Turkey's Elazig province Friday night. The trees also felt in neighboring countries, including Syria and Georgia.
President Erdogan visited the affected region and attended the funeral of the two victims.
“We have had many earthquakes, but the nation has been patient again”, Erdogan said, urging the nation to be strong in this disaster.
