Forty-four cases of infection have been confirmed so far. Authorities believe the virus began spreading to a sea food market, where illegal meat sales were conducted.
“If the virus spread path is still not fully clear, it will likely mutate and spread even more”, said Li Bin, deputy chairman of the National Health Commission.
He said measures have been taken to prevent further spread of the virus, including controlling passenger body temperature at airports.
The virus has already spread to several provinces in China, but in other countries, including Thailand, Japan, and the United States.
Officials agreed that the country is in the most critical phase of preventing and controlling the virus. They have earlier confirmed that the virus can spread among humans.
Among the symptoms of this virus are respiratory problems, fever and coughing, writes “BBC”
