The year 2019 breaks record for spending and transfers to football

FIFA has found that a record amount was spent on the transfer of players in 2019. The list of these expensive transfers was conducted by Joao Felix, Antoine Greezmann and Eden Hazard.
The Global Transference Market report (GTM), which was released by FIFA on Wednesday, found that $7.35 billion was spent from clubs in the transitional deadline of 2019, a 5.8 per cent increase compared to the previous year, the Express broadcast.
The study also confirmed that English clubs are the ones that have made the most of the expenses of $1.52 billion, down 22.1 percent compared to the previous year.
The transfer of Joao Felix from Benfita to Atletico Madrid for 126m euros was the year's most expensive transfer. Following him are Antoine Griezmann (120 mln, Atletico Madrid é Barcelona) and Eden Hazard (100 mln, Chelsea Real Madrid).
The year 2019 broke the record in terms of the number of transfers completed: 18,042 transfers during the year, including 15,463 players.
Most of the expenses were made by elite football clubs. According to FIFA's findings, 80 percent of the amount spent came from only 100 major clubs.
Women's football also marked a drastic rise in both transfers and expenses. During 2019, 833 transfers were made compared to 696 in the preceding year, while 652,032 were spent (the 16.3 percent increase compared to last year).
