Full statement:
The elections are the ideal opportunity to prove everyone's commitment to a government that fittingly represents the citizens of the Republic and a new spirit of integrity during the exercise of political power.
As justice minister, I have been committed to deep reforms within the justice system, and over these two years, we have been able to consolidate a powerful legal base that is central to fighting corruption and organised crime.
These reforms also receive full economic performance from the political will of subjects competing for this year's October 6th elections, through their willingness to avoid encouraging abusive culture.
One of the most concrete ways through which the political will for fighting corruption and abuse should be proven is to run people who have not gone against the law in the sphere that is promoted by corruption and abuse of political power.
Since the term for running persons for MPs within political subjects is in conclusion, as justice minister I invite all political subjects to contribute to the fight against corruption and abuse, through clean lists and with competent and integrity keepers.
The fight against corruption and abuse, in addition to the practical level that is in the responsibility of independent law enforcement bodies, should take full dimension even on the level of political will to punish those who have conflicted with the law and who deprive its effective rule.
Such commitment makes a big and extremely important difference in how our society views its future and confidence in the country's political institutions.
