The three largest parties -- the Vetevendosje Movement, the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Democratic Party of Kosovo -- have decided to enter the race in the October 6th elections separately. It is estimated that these elections will measure the real forces of parties, but will also contribute to increasing their markets after the elections, writes the newspaper “Zer” today.
The deputy head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Xhavit Haliti, in a pronomination for “Zerin” has expressed confidence that his party will be the winner of the 6 October elections, despite going alone to the polls.
“I think that going the PDK alone in elections will be very positive for us. The PDK will come first in the elections and will have the opportunity to form the government. We have taken this into account, having it that the party is highly organised and I believe we will win out of these” elections, Haliti said.
But he has not ruled out the possibility of joining the post-election coalitions with other parties, unless they win 51 seats in the Assembly.
“Coalizations, given the circumstances in Kosovo, are necessary after the elections and we will see who we're going to go with, because if we don't have 50 +1 to be able to form the government alone, then we have to seek coalition partners. That depends on who we're going to talk to and who's willing to join PDK”, he added further.
