Less than a month from holding the General Assembly of Interpol in Chile, the Foreign Ministry says membership in this organisation has not been a priority.
This, according to incumbent Deputy Foreign Minister Anton Berisha, has also affected the election process in Kosovo and the European Union, KTV reports.
Berisha has not indicated that Kosovo will withdraw from the process, but that it has hinted that this could even happen.
Representatives of civil society criticise the Government of Kosovo that it has done nothing for membership in Interpol, considering the failure of Kosovo diplomacy.
Donika Emine from CaviKos, says it doesn't stand the foreign ministry's reasoning, because they had a year to lobby.
In 2017, Kosovo had withdrawn its application for membership in Interpol at the Assembly meeting of this organisation, which was held in China.
While, a year later, at the Dubai summit, Kosovo failed again, this time to get enough votes from Interpol member states.
This year, the General Assembly of this organization will be held on October 15th and 18th.
