“Police have a law enforcement mission in Kosovo, preserves the lives of people in this country, and I can say that the people of Kosovo are fortunate to have you, that we have you, that you care about life, order, wealth, for all the values that Kosovo has created “, so Kosovo Republic Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said at the 20th anniversary signing ceremony of the Kosovo Police.
Acting Prime Minister Haradinaj, ahead of the numerous attendees, said Kosovo Police are a good partner in fighting crime of all threats and threats, a good partner for the region's police, for our continent's EU police, and our police deserve to be a member of INTERPOL and to fight transnational crime.
Acting Prime Minister Haradinaj said it is serious that some countries of the world, including several major countries, undermine Kosovo's membership in INTERPOL, stressing that Kosovo's obstruction to membership in this organisation is a force for crime.
“Whoever does not allow Kosovo to become a member of INTERPOL, wants no order and law, wants to fight transnational crime and other threats and compromises security not only of Kosovo and the region, but compromises and jeopardises the security of our continent”, said incumbent Prime Minister Haradinaj, adding that Kosovo as a sovereign country is a member of the world coalition in the fight against terror, and as an ally takes its responsibilities faithfully and for this Kosovo police do its part of the job in the best way.
Viewing the standard on which Kosovo Police work and the standards on which other rule mechanisms and law mechanisms work in Kosovo, incumbent Prime Minister Haradinaj has assured EU countries that with the decision on visa liberalisation, there will be no surprise for EU countries.
None of the interior ministers of the Schengen countries will have a headache from the free movement of Kosovo citizens. This, for the fact, is that in Kosovo there is an evidence, a database, a system of surveillance and control of movement at the border, of entrances, such as none of us can be surprised. We are awaiting the EU countries' decision on liberalisation and assure all that the Government and the Kosovo Police will successfully carry out their tasks”, incumbent Prime Minister Haradinaj said, adding that they will be in favour of police growth and development, and will also be in support of their holy mission.
Police General Director Rashit Qalaj said Kosovo Police are among the first institutions established for the country's liberation, so police are closely linked to the achievements and challenges of statehood, with important components of the state, security.
Director Qalaj, said the country's most loyal men and women were and are members of the Kosovo police, so today he feels proud of the results of two decades of existence and the non-reliable work of the Kosovo Police.
“During this journey the Kosovo Police have faced more difficulties, challenges and complex and challenging security situation, but they have influenced our strengthening and development”, said director Qalaj, stressing that there are no problems in the police, but only their solution.
At this ceremony were numerous personalities of local and international institutions, security agency directors and international partners, while President Hashim Thaci, Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselin, Interior Affairs Minister Ekrem Mustafa, US Ambassador to Kosovo Philip Kosnett, chief of O. The SEU in Kosovo, Ambassador Ian Braathu.
