The final meeting of the Work Group for the initial draft of the concept-documentation for the Works of Priceed Metalles, which is made up of representatives of Kosovo institutions, the Silver Association and Interested Parts, which are headed by the Kosovo Institute of Metrology, operating within the framework of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), which is also a proposor of the design of this concept.
The meeting again discussed problems, causes, effects and recommendations released by this concept-documental working group, as well as comments and suggestions from the interest parties, the Silver Association, and institutional representatives for how the field management base works from precious metals are regulated.
Kosovo's Metrology Agency, along with relevant mechanisms and interest parties after analyzing the related causes and effects, has concluded that the current metal-making law needs to change or draft a new law in order to improve the efficiency of the agency's work, respectively, the Sector for Price Metalls, improve the quality of the works of these metals, increase competitiveness, and protect consumers in this area.
By means of this normable act, conditions, ways, and action of controlling the quality of the works worked by precious metals and their marketing will be determined. This normative act also determines the technical requirements with which the degree of purity, composition, and content of other metals - parts of the priceless metals, not metals.
And through this norm, conditions and the way of markings in harmony with accepted international signs will be regulated, as well as the obligations of screening and branding expenses, as well as the implementation of inspection and surveillance of this area.
Re-regulation of this area with new legal action will enable the functioning of free market, protection of consumer rights, and will enable fair competition in this area. As the field improves, it is also designed to meet European Union standards.
