CEC, security institutions ready for election day

Central Election Commission Secretariat chief Enis Halimi voiced optimism about conducting election preparations, until he said that through a democratic election process, society will be honored.

“Preparations for these extraordinary or premature elections that make it necessary or set up as extraordinary needs and extraordinary actions are going quite well because, as I said, such a great process involves aspects from logistics to legal, procedural and other”, Halim said.

The willingness to respond to all the situations during the campaign was expressed by the Kosovo Police, where, on behalf of this institution, the co-ordinator for operations, Africa Ahmeti, spoke.

Ahmeti said all relevant actions have been taken for election day.

Kosovo's “Police on the basis of applicable laws and co-operation memorandum have taken their actions to start preparations for the pre-election campaign and for the election day to be held on October 6th. All police officials from regional directors and police stations have held the meeting where we have shared the duties for all officials engaged on Election Day. At this stage we require all to have co-operation, and to report evental cases that can be presented both during the campaign and during the elections. Police are ready to respond to all situations”, he said.

While on behalf of the chief state prosecutor spoke to National Election Co-ordinator Laura Pula, who encouraged citizens to present any case involving manipulation of votes, as according to her, the state chief prosecutor would commit to protecting the vote of citizens.

“We have co-ordinated all actions of the Chief of State's internal operational plan, while simultaneously implementing standard action procedures with the Kosovo Police, so we encourage all citizens of Kosovo to individually present every case involving the question of vote manipulation, because the State Prosecutor has created that good practice of protecting citizens' vote”,

While the panel's panel leader for Ances and Paraseta (PZAP), Syltene Sylejmani, said all actions regarding the strategic plan in terms of elections have been completed so far. She announced that they have so far accepted 86 complaints.

“The Electoral Panel for Ances and Parashtres since the day of making the decision to proclaim early parliamentary elections has taken all actions prior to the framework of the panel's mandate. It has decided on a strategic plan to extend working hours, and to this stage all decisions related to strategic presence have been implemented. The electoral panel has also implemented the strategic plan regarding the implementation of complaints and prefixes until this phase of the procedure has placed 86 complaints”, Sylejmani said.

Part of this meeting were representatives of the Judiciary Council, where with the national election co-ordinator, Fatime Dermaku, stressed that they have undertaken all actions for election day. She made it known they have appointed the 15 judges who will care for her that day and are willing to meet their responsibilities and obligations.
