Jetmir Bakija from Democracy Plus has welcomed the recently published political parties' lists, which will be put into the 6 October election contest.
Bakija said it is positive that in these elections, subjects have not been given room for running persons with charges of corruption, stressing that there has been a demand for equal gender representation.
There are some innovations in the list. If we get some parties, those which are expected to reach the threshold, these are expected, according to polls, to be even in the Assembly, and on all lists there are new ones. Even in one of the major parties, the LDK's is a contender for prime minister who has never been a candidate before, Vjosa Osmani. We're seeing some people who are first Quadro-<x1...
The 30% threshold is respected by all parties. There have been calls for gender representation to be equal to 50/50, but we have a provision of another law requiring at least 30%, and this is almost respected. This is a good development this time because there are fewer people with charges of corruption, candidates for MPs because it was the biggest call of civil associations and activists. Even in Vetevendosje, there have been people with charges because they face the law because of tear gas and the attack on the Assembly. Mostly in the LDK, there have been candidates with charges of corruption, mostly ministers”.
”27 people with the indictment have been candidates in past elections. In these elections, however, there are five candidates with such charges. 3 at the AAK coalition- The PSD, the case of false veterans and a case for the municipality leadership case, while other parties have received that recommendation not to introduce people with charges. A person with an indictment is not necessarily guilty, but when you set up an indictment there, it is known that it has evidence”.
If it's a civil Service law practice, this practice should be followed by political representatives. There is an improvement in political party lists. It is a deadline in the CEC to improve these lists, by Friday they are able to make changes. If we take the external processes such as visa liberalisation or entranting with Europe, without fighting corruption we can't get this score”.
The citizens can't take seriously these politicians who are called for surveillance cases, and say they will fight corruption. The problem with us does not lie in representing the female gender in the Parliament. The problem with us is representation in government, where we had 1 or 2 females. We need to see when the election campaign starts, but with the legal deadline when we start seeing that even parties who can lead with ministerial representative”.
In Electoral Magazine, Jetmir Bakija also cited the way political parties are not respecting the law on the election campaign, claiming political messages are being propagand, Kosova Clan reports.
” We have analysed this issue, but when a political message for elections is propagand, it is an election campaign. The law envisions the deadline for electoral campaigning, and the CEC has determined it is from 25 September to 4 October, and political parties should propaganda and conflict with current law. They have to be careful because they're more likely to hear from the electorate or potential voters than to make promises, and that's the set time for 10 days”.
” I would like the election campaign to be longer 30 days or at least 2 weeks to see how they think to solve the problems of citizens and Kosovo. There are many young people in Vetevendosje there are two for the first time running in the first 10. The LDK has less received this time because they had young people last time. When We See The PDK at Eliza Hoxha ran as the youngest, then Besa Ismaili Ahmeti. The most important thing about the lists is that they're also different professions, because the Assembly should also have professionals to deal with all of these <x1).
