Albanian candidates have invited their countrymen to exploit the right and vote on Albanian candidates to become part of the Austrian Parliament for the first time.

The “Albanians in Austria unfortunately are the community that at least come to the polls. We have to be integrated into every area of life in Austria and we have to be factors in Austria's political life. If we don't support each other, we can't be strengthened as a community. We complain all the time while we're not able to go out one day and vote to change the situation and to seek the rights belonging to”, has told of albinfo.ch, candidate Drita Cacaj, who stressed that all those with Austrian citizenship have a moral and legal obligation to vote.

Who are the candidates?

Drita Cacaj is a candidate on Austria's People's Party list, OVP, currently led by Austria's Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz. With her over 10-year experience in Austrian politics, she believes she will be the winner of this race.

On lists for deputies from the candidate party for Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) is also found in Ina Rexhepi. She is 36, born in Prizren, while together with her husband and two children live in Wels, Austria. She and her family run a successful design company. The seven-year-old Ina is a member of Austria's People's Party.

Serafina Demaku, the 23-year-old Albanian, was born in Baden, Austria, and with his background is the Arbria of Drenica. Serafina has been engaged in nongovernmental organisations on the issue of migration. In 2015 it joins the leadership of Austria's Young Socialists, where until May 2017, it also holds the position of Austria's Secretary of Social Youth. She had run in past elections by the same party.
