In an interview with the Serbian-language North American Office “, Vuciq has said that in terms of Kosovo, the United States has accomplished what they have wanted since 2008, so our position in the US is heavier than in other countries, the Belgrade media quoted the Serbian president as saying.
Vucic has recalled that at the time the government of Serbia issued only one communiqué that “The US recognised Kosovo's independence, this will not change, we seek to fight for our own interest”.
He also stated that he told US authorities that Serbia does not accept that Kosovo Albanians win all of the Serbs.
As for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia and the possible final result from this dialogue, Vucic has recalled the proposal for changing borders and the opposition in which it faced this idea.
The European Union, especially Germany, is against redefining the border, while the US is open and does not care what the agreement will be. They are not thrilled with this idea, since they have recognised Kosovo on these borders, but would only like to achieve mutual recognition”, Vuciq stressed and added that Serbia's position is heavier in the US than in other countries because of different views on the issue.
Serbian President Vucciq has said he would not want to talk about the final course of dialogue, because, according to him, in that case the Serbs themselves would like to leave the negotiations, which no one now wants.
He has already added that over the past six years, a new “force has emerged in Serbia, which some try to explain how there are few Serbian interests in Kosovo”, Vuciq has declared.
