He has charged the Kosovo Police with arresting two activists. He said that police have become <x0vele of clans of personal interests”.
Jelal Svechla's complete writing:
Still, Kosovo police become the tool of interest clans and against citizens' rights.
Yesterday in the village of Beatty, in the Shtrepca municipality, police have raided the homes of activists engaged in protecting the Lepenc River. In this case, two of them -- Halim Tahiri and Alexander Stankovic -- without explanation have been sent to the hold for 48 hours.
As before, public opinion has been announced, residents of this village have come together and have objected to plans to introduce their river into the giant pipe, which the Lepenc River would be buried for miles. Since this river is not just water for irrigation, refreshment, and fishing for them, life itself. They joined together despite ethnic affiliation and protested the realisation of this environmental catastrophe.
With minihythrocentrals like this one, where only in the Lepenc River basin are 11 planned, this region is greatly damaged and few individuals, close to him or part of power benefit from this damage.
Movement V EVIDENCE! has consistently argued the damage and legal violations by institutions and workers, damage which if they don't stop now will be irreversible.
We encourage residents of that area, civil society, but also every individual not to give in to any pressure from anyone, in protecting their rights, such as the right to healthy life.
At the same time we will consistently support everyone who protects not only the present but also the future of our country and its resources.
I prefer to all state officials not to become the tool of illegal interests of interest clans, given that when legal violations are being addressed at institutions then the same are moving away to save themselves.
We are faced with major changes, changes that will address all these problems.
