Despite the fact that the QUINT states have called for immediate continuation of dialogue and the removal of the determined tax on Serbian products, none of the political parties have been declared pro-remoted.
Rather, representatives of political subjects have dedicated particular importance to early elections, after which the dialogue must resume, writes the newspaper “Voice”.
On this issue, former dialogue chief negotiator with Serbia, Edita Tahiri, has said Kosovo is not prepared to return to the dialogue process at the time when new elections are required to be held.
“at this time when Kosovo has no legitimate institutions, for the fact that the government is resigned and when all parties seek to hold elections, I think Kosovo is not prepared to continue the Brussels dialogue. Only after legitimate institutions, elected by the free vote of citizens, can Kosovo continue with dialogue”, has it stressed for the paper.
According to Tahiri, the QUINT countries before calling for continued dialogue have had to engage about lifting visas for Kosovo citizens. I am surprised that the states of the QUINT are dealing with dialogue instead of engaging in Kosovo citizens to deal with visa liberalisation, because today Kosovo citizens are the most isolated in Europe”, it has suggested.
Meanwhile, Life Krasniqi, project manager for dialogue within the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), has said the QUINT countries' statement by KDI is seen as supporting dialogue and to both sides involved in the process. The dialogue process after the resumption, according to Krasniqi, should be led on the part of Kosovo's prime minister. The “for us like KDI is important for the dialogue process to be backed by friendly states and this process to be guided, as the Constitution envisions, on the part of the prime minister, in co-ordination with the president and with full supervision of the UN”, it has added.
