A video inside the Tai Koo station showed the officers shooting at what seemed to be nearby non-lethal ammunition.
There are also some policemen who beat people with sticks on the moving stairs.
While at Wan Chai Centre, Molotov cocktails and bricks were thrown on police, who responded by arresting and accusing protesters.
A number of people, including a policeman, were injured in clashes.
Protesters have begun adopting new tactics, hitting in some areas in smaller groups before running when police arrive, says BBC Stephen McDonell, who is in town.
