Gangsters from Albania, this state of the Western Balkans, have also surpassed the Polish or Romanians in the number of foreign prisoners in Britain, the Ministry of Justice in London reported, Koha Ditore writes.
Their number in the past 10 years has increased fivefold, with 10% of foreign prisoners in Great Britain being Albanians. English police say Albanian gangs are famous in Britain and operate mainly in drug trafficking, such as cocaine. The number of Albanians imprisoned in Great Britain has almost doubled in only four years, up from 475 registered in June 2015. A decade ago the figure was only 166.
A British Justice Ministry report notes that “Albanians make up the largest number of foreigners in British prisons, secondly there are Poles, then Romanians, Irish and immigrants from Jamaica”.
