Kosovo continues to be the main destination of exiles to spend holidays. As long as they stay here they spend a lot of money.
Africa Avdullahu has come from Denmark and says that in about two weeks' time in his home country, he spends about 3 thousand euros.
We have not calculated the “, but there is a sum between 2,500 and 3,000 euros. We spend that amount for two weeks”, says Africa Avvdullahu.
All these expenses he says are just for fun.
But economics connoisseur Naim Gashi says income from the diaspora in Kosovo should change orientation.
I think that the Kosovo diaspora should gradually direct remittances to Kosovo in investments for large and small businesses to create jobs for their families in Kosovo. Prices for consumption increase consumption, but do not affect economic growth over the long term”, says Naim Gashi.
According to Gashi, increased remittances are the cause of increased migration.
“The main factor affecting the permanent increase in income from diaspora are immigration, where only in Germany over the past two years have legally emigrated over 16 thousand Kosovo citizens through working visas”.
While according to Kosovo Central Bank data, remittances in Kosovo, for the first period of 2019 are 332m euros -- that is, 24m euros more than the first 6 months of last year.
According to the CEC, the state from which remittances come mostly is Germany by 40.7%, then Switzerland, Italy and Austria, RTV Dukajni reports.
