On the eve of the election campaign, some political subjects, who called for the suspension of the tax on Serbia as a condition to continue the dialogue, are already seeking to keep its power.
The PDK and LDK have changed their 100 per cent stance on the issue for a few months.
All major political parties are expected to exploit the 100 per cent tax on Serbian goods to gain political points in early parliamentary elections, which will be held in the autumn of this year, although some of these parties months ago repeatedly sought its suspension, arguing that they are suggesting international partners to unblock dialogue with Serbia.
The 100 per cent tax on Serbian and Bosnian goods is imposed by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj on November 21st 2018, after being proposed by Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj, writes the newspaper “Zeri”.
After the international pressure on tax removal began to increase, Hoxhaj had several times stated in the media that the tax should be suspended, but surprisingly the night before he for media stressed that he must remain in power.
Even the Democratic League of Kosovo, its leader, Isa Mustafa, respectively, is demanding that the tax remain in force, though in the case of its deployment it had declared that it was set more for domestic political consumption.
