debate at CEC: Let's not become like municipalities who were surprised by snow in winter, ready for elections

At today's CEC meeting, where three new political parties were registered, Valdete Daka said they assure the public that are ready for the body whenever elections in Kosovo are decided to be held.
Central Election Commission Chairman Valdete Daka said the secretariat should begin mobilisation, not preparations, for possible elections at the end of September or early October of this year.
We need to assure the public that we are willing to cure them even if they are announced to be organized, and of course we as a decision-making body demand from the Secretariat to start, not preparations for elections, but to mobilise if we have elections next month or after, to be willing to respond to the call for election organisation. We assure the public that we are ready and whenever those elections are announced we will organise”, she said.
CEC member Sami Hamiti said the country is on the verge of elections and the CEC must be prepared so it does not face previous problems.
And if we're on the verge of elections, we can say it's not an election year, but elections are, and don't find out what we're always in and say we're unprepared or they happen to us quickly that they're extraordinary. Prepare especially for municipal officials where we don't have them, because the countries haven't been met, we have a problem with the wind last time, don't happen to us, that's a technical issue, we've been the last one to have done our results”, he said.
Even according to Florian Dush, it is in the interest of the CEC to start preparing for elections, since the deadline it is given could then be short.
Could not happen to us as some municipal officials in various municipalities that are taking advantage of the snow in the winter by surprise, we are seeing developments, so it's in the CEC's interest to start some preparations about the elections, because of course these other deadlines are taking time, when it comes to the CEC they have to give us a minimum deadline, so we have to be almost”, he said.
And according to Adnan Rrustem, the CEC should reflect its position on the situation.
According to him, elections can be held soon and should not be taken by surprise.
This does not prevent us as the secretariat to start planning budget, professional, human resources for preparing operations so the electoral process could go as well. This means only in the phase of mobilization for preparation, not non-examination decisions. So I think even the opinion has an interest in this, and we ourselves should reflect the attitude in line with the situation that we are. The elections may soon be, in late September, early October as far away, and we should not be surprised at least for this period”, he said.
We remember that the head of the Kosovo Assembly has set August 22nd for the session, in which the agenda distribution of this Parliament legislature will be the starting point.
This has come after Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's resignation, who last month announced he is resigning from the prime minister's post due to the invitation he received from the Special Court.
Meanwhile, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has not spoken of new elections, but has asked the coalition to propose a new mandate to head the executive
