US President Donald Trump loses his ambassador to Russia after John Huntsman, former Republican candidate for the White House and former governor of Utah, and resigns.
Jon Huntsman announced with a letter to the US president his resignation after two years at the embassy in Moscow, during which he had to deal with mounting tensions between the US and Russia following alleged Russian interventions in the American presidential elections in 2016.
Huntsman will leave in October and can run again for governor of Utah
