The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo will not be part of a possible technical government.
AAK Deputy Chairman Ahmet Isufi in an interview for Economy Online says they have agreed to go to new elections, while he says he prefers a pre-election coalition with smaller parties, such as the Social Democrat Initiative and the PSD.
We've basically said that we're going to come out as a special subject, but if there's a need for coalitions, then we go with the parties with which we've had a tradition of our common commitment, such as NISMA, as well as the PSD, because of the constructiveness that has shown in these commitments, especially with the approval of important laws that have been for Kosovo. Another party, which may also be part of the commitment, will be seen in the coming days what the orientations of other parties that want to join the Alliance. We have no red lines with no party, but we have someone closer and we have a distance of”, he says.
He also says Ramush Haradinaj is an untenable candidate for prime minister, as he says Haradinaj for two years at the helm of the government testified that he knows to protect Kosovo's interests.
“I believe all political parties are convinced that the prime minister, who advocates Kosovo's interests, is committed to decisions which favour the state and strengthen it, is Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj. Therefore, no direction nor a dilemma exists, because, however, during the two-year rule, it has shown that it is a manstate who makes important decisions and opposes those interests which could weaken Kosovo. Therefore, with his stance, Mr. Haradinaj has guaranteed a move forward, and others have convinced that there is no better prime minister than Haradinaj”, he says.
Isufi also commented on the Parliament's Headship's decision to set August 22nd as the date for the session in which the Parliament's break-up is aimed.
He says it was an agreement of all parties for such a date.
“At the end of the Commission meeting, all agreed to be this date, although there was also proposals like our proposal that earlier made August 14th or 15th, but it was still a request to be made on 22nd due to the preparations that have to be made, and that's in order”.
Isufi has denied speculation about the possibility of a technical government, as it says all parties have already agreed to go to early elections.
The “on the basis of the declaration of political parties and the chairman of the Parliament at the meeting absolutely does not have any interest in any other topic than going to the elections, all are declared to be for elections and this is now public, it is an opinion, and there is no chance that there will be any change”, he says.
Asked whether they would be part of a government where the prime minister would be someone else, not Haradinaj, Isufi says Haradinaj has been proven to be an incompatible prime minister.
“Po we know that every party when it comes to campaigning and in times of elections targets the prime minister because we have a parliamentary system where the government has a key role in institutional political developments in the country. But what's important is to be given support to what deserves most, and I consider that for 20 years, for two years, Mr. Haradinaj has been prime minister, has shown that he is an untenable executive leader, Isufi says, as he speaks of AAK growth.
“The Kosovo political scene is on an interesting trend because the 4 political parties compete for the head of Italics and in this race we are strongly oriented, the cause of major decisions undertaken by Mr. Haradinaj who have been embraced by the people, we also have a rise of the Alliance in spite of other parties having a decline or stagnation”, he says.
“Alance for the Future of Kosovo, even from polls, even from perception in opinion, is the party, which is on the dynamic rise”, he concluded.
